"The Faces of Our Dead"
"The Faces Of Our Dead" is a poster by Russell Wallace, based on an original image by Joe Magnolia of the American Leftist blog.
I made this poster to remind people of the cost of the American occupation of Iraq. It commemorates American soldiers who died during the first year of the war, from March 2003 to March 2004. These men and women gave their lives for an American foreign policy based on lies and ideology. While this in no way lessens their sacrifice, we should always remember that war has a terrible price, and we must never send our sons and daughters to die for us unless the goal is truly worthwhile.
The mosaic image is made up of the pictures of 609 American soldiers who died in Iraq during the first year of the war. The image contains 1410 pictures, so each picture is used an average of between two and three times to make the mosaic. No pictures is used more than three times.
